Hello Mark,

I noticed that you set up a few Jobs on Hudson. This is great, but I
think this creates some redundancy, right? We now have:

https://hudson.eclipse.org/hudson/job/rmf-nightly/
https://hudson.eclipse.org/rmf/

Should we keep both, or close down the first one?

Best,

- Michael

Hello Michael,

we were using the two hudson servers since quite a while.
https://hudson.eclipse.org/rmf/ was the hudson hipp instance that triggered a single rmf job (rmf.documentation)
https://hudson.eclipse.org/hudson/job/rmf-nightly/ is the job that is triggered nightly and whenever something changes in the develop branch of the RMF repository.

Rationale for the new Hudson jobs on the RMF HIPP instance:

(1) We had some issues with the rmf-nightly build job on the shared hudson instance:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=471841 - RMF Nightly builds have gone wacko
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=463094 - I killed "rmf-nightly" job on shared hudson

(2) The shared hudson instance did not support Gerrit Event Triggers which are very useful for verifying commits to gerrit.
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=474663 - automatically verify RMF against LUNA and MARS in case of SCM changes or gerrit events

TODO:
before we can switch off the https://hudson.eclipse.org/hudson/job/rmf-nightly/ job, we should redirect our http://download.eclipse.org/rmf/updates/latest update site
to https://hudson.eclipse.org/rmf/job/rmf.develop.mars/lastSuccessfulBuild/artifact/update-site
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=475231

kind regards

Mark
